Jext is a pre-filled pen device that contains adrenaline or epinephrine. Jext is to be used in case of severe acute anaphylaxis, i.e., severe acute allergic reaction to a food item, chemical or insect bite or drugs. Usage of Jext is for emergency purpose only.
Adrenaline or epinephrine is naturally secreted in the human body under stress condition or in emergencies. Adrenaline offers immediate relief from the hypersensitivity reactions to allergies or anaphylaxis. Adrenaline is a potent vasoconstrictor, as a result of which it offsets the increased vascular permeability and vasodilatation in anaphylactic shock. Vasodilation and enhanced vascular permeability in anaphylactic shock characteristically result in hypotension and fluid retention (or swelling). Thus, Jext is used to treat anaphylaxis.
