Striverdi Respimat is a medication that offers relief from the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Regular use of Striverdi Respimat helps reduce COPD symptoms and flare-ups. It relaxes the airways and reduces breathlessness.

Striverdi Respimat is a highly effective medicine for those suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. With regular dosage, Striverdi Respimat can control frequent flare-ups and the troublesome symptoms of COPD conditions such as breathlessness, wheezing, and coughing. This medication relaxes the muscles of the airways to the lungs to allow easy airflow.

Striverdi Respimat is an inhaler that administers the medication through the lungs. It contains the active ingredient OlodaterolOlodaterol is a bronchodilator medication, also known as a long-acting beta 2 agonist. It relaxes the muscles of the airways preventing their narrowing or constriction to allow the patient to breathe freely.

The effects of Olodaterol last for up to 24 hours. Olodaterol is not the same as short-acting beta-2 agonists such as Salbutamol or Terbutaline. Striverdi Respimat is most effective when used regularly for a long time.

Striverdi Respimat is a prescription-only medication. Follow the dosage as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. Your doctor will assess your chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) symptoms to recommend the required amount of medicine.

Usually, the recommended dose of Striverdi Respimat is two inhalations once a day. One puff or inhalation of Striverdi Respimat contains 2.5 micrograms of Olodaterol.

Your doctor may advise a different dose depending on your symptoms. Do not change your dosage without consulting your doctor first. Keep the following points in mind when taking Striverdi Respimat –

  • Striverdi Respimat is a preventive medication designed to treat COPD symptoms with regular use over the long term. So, it is essential to take the medication every day and not just when you experience breathing problems.

  • The effects of Striverdi Respimat last for 24 hours. Try to take your dose at the same time every day for the best results.

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Unless it is almost time for the next dose – in that case, skip the missed dose and move on to the next one. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

  • Overdose of Striverdi Respimat may lead to side effects. If you or anyone else has taken an overdose of this medication, seek medical attention immediately.

Striverdi Respimat is a prescription medication that should be used as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. It is also good to read the patient information leaflet provided in the pack for instructions for use. Here is a step-by-step guide for using the Striverdi Respimat Inhaler –

NOTE:

If your Inhaler has not been used for more than seven days, release one puff towards the ground before taking the medication. If it has not been used for more than twenty-one days, repeat the steps listed under ‘Preparation for use’, then repeat steps 4 to 6 at least three times before taking the medication.

Preparation for Use

  1. Keep the cap closed. Press the safety catch while pulling off the clear base with the other hand.

  1. Insert a cartridge into the Inhaler. Place the Inhaler on a firm surface and push down on it firmly until it ‘clicks’ into place.

  1. Mark the checkbox provided on the Inhaler’s label to track the number of cartridges you have used. Put the clear base back into place until you hear it click.

  1. Keep the cap closed. Turn the clear base in the direction of the arrows on the label until it clicks. You should hear the click at half a turn.

  1. Open the cap until it snaps fully open.

  1. Point the Inhaler to the ground and press the dose release button, close the cap. Repeat Steps 4 to 6 until a cloud is visible. After you see a visible cloud, repeat Steps 4 to 6 three more times.

Now your Striverdi Respimat Inhaler is ready to deliver 60 actuations (puffs) or 30 doses. Here are the steps for using the Inhaler to take a daily dose.

Using the Striverdi Respimat Inhaler -

  1. Keeping the cap closed, turn the base in the direction of the arrows on the label until it clicks.

  1. Stand or sit upright when using the Striverdi Respimat Inhaler

  1. Remove the protective cap from the mouthpiece until it snaps open completely, and ensure that the mouthpiece is clean.

  1. Facing away from the mouthpiece, breathe out as far as you can to empty your lungs.

  1. Hold the inhaler mouthpiece between your lips without covering the air vents. Point the Inhaler to the back of your throat.

  1. Close your lips around the mouthpiece to form a seal. Breathe in slowly while simultaneously pressing down on the dose release button and continue to breathe in as deeply as you can.

  1. Hold your breath for ten seconds or as long as comfortable.

  1. Exhale, facing away from the inhaler mouthpiece.

  1. Repeat the above steps for the second inhalation.

  1. Close the cap after you have finished taking the dose.

  • Replace the protective cover over the mouthpiece after every use. Also, remember to rinse your mouth or gargle with water (without swallowing it) after every dose.

  • When the dose indicator shows 20 or fewer doses remaining, it is time to revisit your doctor to get a new prescription.

  • Clean your inhaler mouthpiece with a clean, dry cloth every once a week. Do not use water to clean your Inhaler.
